Hardware
The basic parts that make up your computer. The motherboard, hard drive, memory, etc.
Hard disk
The physical place where a computer stores information - applications and files - is known as its hard disk drive (HDD). The bigger the HDD, the more data it can store.
Hard drive
A hard drive is the storage component of your computer. It is the only place you can save a file to. You can add on an external hard drive or a flash pen drive for extra space. You can buy a 500GB hard drive for around $100 dollars. See the different drives of a computer.
Header
Repetitive information that appears at the top of every page of a document. See the header at the top of this page.
Highlight
To select something by making it blue. You can left click once on a file or left click at the start of text, holding the button in to select the text you want. After you have selected something you can copy, cut, move, delete, and more. If you right click on something that is highlighted you will see a menu.
Home page
The page that an Internet browser first opens up to. It is usually the starting point of an organisation's or individual's website.
HTML
Hyper-text markup language (HTML) is a set of symbols inserted into files intended for display on the world wide web. The symbols tell web browsers how to display words and images - e.g. which colour, font and type size to use - and they direct it to link to other pages on the world wide web via hyperlinks.
HTTPS
- HyperText Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket
- secure method of transferring or accessinginformation on a web page
- secure, encrypted sites that require login
information on web pages or on web pages that
contain sensitive information

Hyperlink
- often referred to as just “links”
- a word, phrase, or image that you can click on tojump to a new document or section of a document.They can be found on nearly all web pages

- commonly used to measure a computer monitor’s
